The tour includes a cooking class from a local chef where you will eat what you prepare, evening meals including one in a mountain top restaurant, as well as a lunch in a 700 year old market square. After breakfast at the hotel it's time to continue with your onward travel.
The stunning medieval city of Girona is the jewel in northern Catalonia’s crown. Your ride begins here and takes in the stunning Catalonia hills and coastlines. The region offers superb dining, cultural exploration and magical cycling.
The weather in Catalonia makes it one of the reasons why it has become such a popular cycling destination. The cycling season can begin as early as March and April which offers cool Spring riding. The summer is warm but not usually sweltering like some other Mediterranean destinations and the Autumn cycling season can last sometimes until late November.
You will be met and collected at Girona airport on your arrival and be provided with a transfer back to the airport on your final day. There is also the possibility of being met at Barcelona if you prefer although this is a longer transfer.

One of the highlights of the holiday is enjoying Ratafia tasting in farmhouse. Ratafia is a local liqueur only made in Catalunya. With no set recipe and over 40 ingredients that have to be harvested at different times of the year, it is a complicated drink to produce. Enjoy some of the different varieties under the guidance of the owner of the house and Ratafia connoisseur.
If you choose not to have a guide, you will want to know that your bike is in great condition and that you won’t have any mechanical problems during your ride. Our bikes are extremely well serviced and maintained but in the very unlikely event there is a mechanical issue with the bike (not including basic maintenance such as slipped chains or punctures), we will provide you with an emergency number for someone to come out and repair or replace your bike.
We consider travel insurance to be essential. Accordingly, it is a condition of making a booking through us that you have suitable insurance cover for the booking you have made and any activities which you expect to take part in. This insurance as a minimum should cover cancellation, baggage loss, accidents and health issues while you are away. We also recommend that you take your policy details with you when you travel.
