DAY 1Thu 05/04/2018 - Arrival

Our team will be in place to welcome you at the hotel and assist you with your bike or make adjustments...Show More to those that are hiring bikes. Our guides will then lead you on a spectacular ride along Lake Garda, Italy in all it's splendour. Along the way we will stop for coffee and maybe an ice cream in Sirmione. On return to the hotel you will have time to relax and use the Spa facilities before your evening meal. There are many reasons to choose Italy as a cycling destination and one of them is the food! A sumptuous meal will be served using local ingredients. The meal will be a great way to meet fellow guests and share stories of cycling over a glass of wine.
DAY 2Fri 06/04/2018 - Ride along Lake Garda
There is plenty of time after breakfast to stroll through the pretty town of Desenzano and for the first time have a wonder around the Colnago Festival. A super place to see first hand exhibitors...Show More from all over Italy. A glimpse in to the world of cycling fashion, gadgets and of course beautiful bikes. After a relaxing morning we will again set of on a ride towards the west side of Lake Garda. Your guide will take you on some of the climbs to be tackled during the Granfondo. With bikes safely stored away we will again meet for a splendid meal in the hotel restaurant. With no riding the next day many clients may choose to explore the nightlife in the heart of Desenzano. With plenty of bars, ice ream shops and cafes you are spoilt for choice.
DAY 3Sat 07/04/2018 - Visit the Colnago museum

After breakfast you will be transferred to Cam...Show Morebiago (outskirts of Milano). A name synonymous for over 50 years with Colnago, the Colnago museum are a must for any cycling fan. A chance to discover the story of Colnago. The afternoon will be spent in Desezano where we will organise your registration for the Granfondo for you. The organisers of the event have planned a fun afternoon and evening of cycling related activities. This evening you have a chance to chose your own restaurant for dinner.
DAY 4Sun 08/04/2018 - Grandfondo Colnago
Our team will be on hand to make any last minute bike adjustments before we cycle the short distance to start line of the Granfondo. An epic 100km plus awaits over 3000 riders all looking forward...Show More to great riding and fantastic views overlooking Lake Garda. For non riders we will offer a shuttle service to viewing points around the course to watch loved ones. On return to the Palace Hotel there is no need to rush as we have arranged late check outs for you. With backs packed and bikes in boxes we will transfer you to your airport for flights departing in the evening. Please ask us if you would like to stay an extra night which can also be arranged.
If there is a more stunnign area to ride than one of the Italian lakes, then we haven't found it. Your hotel is on the calm waters of the lake and your riding will take you up climbs offering spectacular views across both the lake and the mountains.
The Granfondo Colnago takes place in April when the weather is usually cool and crisp. Take a shell jacket for the early morning rides.
Your stay will be at the elegant 4* Palace hotel Desenzano, situated on Lake Garda, between Desenzano and Sirmione. We can add on extra nights or upgrade your room or offer single occupancy, subject to availability. Just ask our cycling experience team when you make your enquiry.
We consider travel insurance to be essential. Accordingly, it is a condition of making a booking through us that you have suitable insurance cover for the booking you have made and any activities which you expect to take part in. Please note that sportives can often be classed as races by insurers and so you need to ensure you are covered to race. The insurance should also as a minimum cover cancellation, baggage loss, accidents and health issues while you are away. We also recommend that you take your policy details with you when you travel.
