Ibiza is so much more than bright lights and boat parties. The white isle offers dramatic coastline, pristine sandy beaches and tiny little villages in which to relax and enjoy some tapas. This round the island takes in the best of Ibiza, exploring the rugged north and jagged cliffs that plunge into the sea, as well as the undulating roads of the south with its hidden coves, quiet beaches and turquoise waters.
Arrive in Ibiza. We will be waiting to take you to the hotel in Santa Eulalia. Check in and chill out.
DAY 2Northern Loop
You will start in the north of the island, a swimmers paradise and perfect for those who enjoy a glass of Rioja of wine as it's the heart of Ibiza's wine region. Northern Ibiza is laid back, rugged and much quieter than the south, and has forged a reputation as a wellness area.
The ride begins in Santa Eulalia, Ibiza's centre of culture, and you'll head along the east coast before heading inland to Sant Carles. If you're looking for a mid morning snack, we recommend the local gazpacho in town by the church. The next part of the route takes you to Cal de Sant Vincent and as you head up into the hills, you will be greeted with spectacular views across the shore. Your ride continues across the island to the west side to Portinatx and you can grab a coffee by the lighthouse which offers magnificent views of the Mediterranean.
You will then head inland to Port Sant Miguel where if you have time, you can check out the C’an Marça caves, before riding back through the centre of the ilsand, Santa Getrudis, and then on to Santa Eulalia.
Today's cycling is approximately 80km.
DAY 3Southern Loop
You've seen the north and now its time to discover an altogether different landscape in the south. Boasting classic turquoise seas and white sand beaches lined with green palm trees, the south is truly an island paradise.
Your ride will head inland and towards the south before arriving in Es Cubells. Make your way down to the shore and take a break on the Cala Jondal beach, a beautiful bay to enjoy a mid morning croissant and coffee. You'll then cycle on undulating roads before turning back towards the centre of Ibiza where you can ride through party central, Sant Antonio or choose to skirt round it. The ride heads back towards the middle if the island and you will go from the big town of Sant Antonio to quiet villages, before riding back to Santa Eulalia.
Today's cycling is approximately 90km.
Check out from the hotel and we will take you back to the airport.
Come and visit Ibiza and discover an island shedding its reputation for just stag and hen parties. From the beautiful cobbled streets of Ibiza town to gastronomic cuisine, Ibiza offers much more than just beach and partying. The cycling is usually on quiet roads with the more mountainous north offering awe inspiring vistas across the Mediterranean and the south offering undulating roads down to secluded beaches.
The weather in Ibiza makes it one of the most sought after destinations by bicycle and attracts cyclists from all over the world. Ibiza has a relatively cool but sunny Spring and Autumn so if you’re planning on travelling between March and May and September to November, you will see a lot of bikes. You can also cycle in the summer and we would recommend beautiful early morning rides or later afternoon rides and to avoid the midday sun.
Your accommodation will be a 4* hotel in the Santa Eulalia, a great location from which to cycle the island. All our trips are bespoke though so if you wish to stay in traditional accommodation or a different quality of hotel, just ask.
