You time in India is at an end. We suggest you organise a local taxi to take you to Chennai airport or we can provide you with a transfer back to the airport on request.


From the glistening Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal, you will get a true taste of India. Tea plantations dot the hillsides of the Western Ghats, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as you ride through some of the most beautiful parts of Southern India.

Further inland you will find endless coconut groves, sugar cane fields, small villages and Indian towns bursting with colour, before you arrive on the beaches of the Bay of Bengal.


The weather is mainly hot for most of the year with significant variations from region to region. The coolest weather lasts from around the end of November to the beginning of March, with fresh mornings and evenings, and mostly sunny days, making it a fabulous time to cycle.

The really hot weather is between March and June and monsoon rains occur in most regions between June and early October.

Your accommodation will be very comfortable, staying in Heritage Hotels, sprawling villas, eco-lodges & camps.  
You will be met and collected at Kochi International airport before being whisked away to our hotel.  Please note that transfers to Chennai airport from our final day in Mahabalipuram are not included as you might be spending longer in Chennai or other areas of India. If you would like this return transfer included, please let our cycling experience team know.   
Your trip will include all meals. Fresh, local cuisine will be served and bottled mineral water and snacks are provided on all cycling days. Please let our cycling experience team know if you have any dietary requirements that we need to be aware of.  
The holiday is guided by English speaking, knowledgeable, friendly guides. All the guides we use are first aid trained guides and your ride will be followed by a support van equipped with plenty of refreshments as well as a comprehensive first-aid kit.   
You will have a well trained and knowledgeable guide who will carry a comprehensive first-aid kit. In the unlikely case of any medical emergency that requires a hospital, there is ground transportation on hand to provide assistance and a local speaking support team.  
The bike you will hire will be a Cannondale, Trek or Merida hybrid with V brakes and 21 gears. The bike has front suspension and will give you a comfortable ride as you cruise through the backwaters of Kerala, and it is well maintained. The bike has water bottle holders and an area to keep a small day bag. If you would like to bring your own bike instead, please let our cycling experience team know.  
The support van will be equipped with essentials such as bottled mineral water and local fruit and snacks during each day's ride. The guide will have a travel set of bike tools for emergency repairs and the support van will be equipped with spare parts and other tools. We will also fit a gel saddle to the bike to make your ride that little bit more comfortable.  
Your bags will be collected each morning and taken from your accommodation to the next night’s accommodation. We suggest you keep a day bag with you for all your essentials. 
Travel to India is not included but please ask our cycling experience team if you would like us to book flights for you.   
We consider travel insurance to be essential. Accordingly, it is a condition of making a booking through us that you have suitable insurance cover for the booking you have made and any activities which you expect to take part in. This insurance as a minimum should cover cancellation, baggage loss, accidents and health issues while you are away. We also recommend that you take your policy details with you when you travel. Please ask our cycling experience team if you would like us to arrange travel insurance for you.   
Bicycle helmet hire is not included in the price but we can include this for you at a very small charge. Love Velo recommends the use of a bicycle helmet on all rides. Please click here for advice on wearing helmets from our partner, British Cycling.
