The climb is a challenging 25km but it the ascent is quite gradual.

This ride gives you a taste of the 2009 Tour de France. You will ride along the famous coastal road, one of the most stunning sections of road you can experience on a bike. The ride is tough with plenty of undulating sections and punchy climbs but this ride is a must if you're in Girona.

DAY 6Rocacorba Climb
This ride has been made famous by David Millar and features one of the highest and the most challenging mountains in Girona, the Rocacorba climb.
This climb has gained notoriety in recent years for its relentless, brutal nature. It will certainly challenge you with a steep gradient and long distance. Keep an eye out for professionals who use this ride for training.

Today we will transfer you back to the airport for your return flight home.
The stunning medieval city of Girona is the jewel in northern Catalonia’s crown. From its gothic architecture to the shimmering River Onyar, this is a city that offers superb dining, cultural exploration and perfect base to ride through Catalonia or enjoy the Girona Festival of Cycling.
The weather in Girona makes it one of the reasons why so many professional riders base themselves here. The cycling season can begin as early as March and April which offer cool Spring riding. The summer is warm but not usually sweltering like some other Mediterranean destinations and the Autumn cycling season can last sometimes until late November.
You will be met and collected at Girona airport on your arrival and be provided with a transfer back to the airport on your final day. There is also the possibility of being met at Barcelona if you prefer although this is a much longer transfer.
The holiday is a self guided holiday allowing you to explore Girona and the surrounding areas at your own pace. These will be sent to you once you have booked your holiday with Love Velo and each file will be titled with a short description of the ride and the distance. If you would like to see the profile of each route, we recommend that you download the files before your holiday and open them with a GPS viewer. If you would like guiding instead, please just ask our cycle experience team.
