DAY 4Sun 01/07/2018 - Race Day
It's an early start this morning. Breakfast is served from approximately
5.15am and you must be in your start pen by 6.15am which is 15 minutes

15 minutes before the start, the organisers will direct you to the back
pen. Roads are closed to traffic so you will freewheel from the hotel to the race start. Race face on, good luck! Quick tip, get your friends to download the DataSport app and they can
track your progress on the ride. Or download it yourself to track other
friends who are on the ride.
The Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, provide a unique and spectacular backdrop to your cycling. There is no flat in the Dolomites, you are either pushing hard up the climbs or revelling in the thrilling descents.
Our favourite climb is the Falzarego which offers stunning views across the rugged Dolomites. For descending, look no further than the awesome 20km freewheel from Arabba to the start of the Passo Giau.
The summer can be beautifully warm but as you are in the mountains, the weather can be changeable. We suggest that you pack clothing for all weathers as the difference in weather can be stark from one week to the next.
Your stay will be at a great family owned 4* hotel in Corvara, located very close to the finishing line for the Maratona. The hotel has a fabulous spa equipped with steam rooms, saunas and a 15m indoor swimming pool. Views from the restaurant are spectacular and we recommend sipping an Aperol Spritz on the roof terrace. We can upgrade your room or offer single occupancy, subject to availability. Just ask our cycling experience team when you make your enquiry.
Race entry is guaranteed. We do also have a very limited number of spaces in the second starting pen and subject to availability, can upgrade your starting number. This is of huge advantage as it allows you to start your ride ahead of the pack making the first climbs easier and quieter with less chance of bottle necking.
Travel to the Dolomites is included from specific flights. Please note that to use the transfer, you must either book these flights or arrive at Venice Marco Polo Airport prior to its arrival. The outbound flight is 29 June 2017, BA2584 from London Gatwick arriving at Venice Marco Polo at 4.05pm. The inbound flight is 3 July 2017, BA2581 from Venice Marco Polo leaving at 3.40pm
We consider travel insurance to be essential. Accordingly, it is a condition of making a booking through us that you have suitable insurance cover for the booking you have made and any activities which you expect to take part in. Please note that sportives can often be classed as races by insurers and so you need to ensure you are covered to race. The insurance should also as a minimum cover cancellation, baggage loss, accidents and health issues while you are away. We also recommend that you take your policy details with you when you travel. Please ask our cycling experience team if you would like us to arrange travel insurance for you.
