Currently riding for WaowDeals Pro Cycling, Dani Rowe’s transition into road cycling has been nothing but smooth. With a Bronze medal in this years Commonwealth Games Road Race and another in the Tour of Britain, the rider that won team pursuit gold on the track in 2012 has proven that she can do it all. In 2015, Dani, along with husband Matt Rowe, Luke Rowe and Courtney Rowe entered into a new venture, setting up a cycling coaching company with the aim of getting more people, regardless of experience, on the road.
Join Dani and her coaching company, Rowe & King, on their Mallorca training camp next March. Click here to find out more.
Kindly, Dani agreed to share more about her company with us, as well as offering insight into her favourite cycling destination and proudest cycling moments.
How long have you been cycling for?
14 years – I got into it through the British Cycling Talent Team.
What’s your favourite thing about cycling?
The release of endorphins after a solid day on the bike – I can feel more energised after 5 hours of training than I do after doing nothing sometimes.
What is your proudest cycling achievement?
Winning Team Pursuit Gold, London 2012 Olympic Games.
What advice do you have for anyone looking to start cycling?
Find a local group of riders and listen to advice about bike set up and bike fit. Riding in a group is not only safer but it’s also much more fun! We coach a whole range of riders at Rowe & King, and it’s amazing how often we come across riders who only cycle on their own and don’t realise there is an established club only a few miles down the road. Get on to google and check out your local clubs.
