Arrive into Nice airport and we will provide you with an airport transfer to your hotel. Relax and enjoy the beautiful Promenade des Anglais, the mega yachts bobbing on the water, or explore the Cours Saleya in Nice old town.
We are taking the hassle out of registering for the event and will be doing this for you. Visit the EXPO, relax by the beach or enjoy one of our guided rides in the morning. Our guided rides are likely to be only 30-50km in length allowing you to spin your legs, check your bike is in good working order and take in some beautiful riding in the French Riviera.
After an early breakfast, you will roll down to the starting pens which will be a few minute ride from our hotels. Please note, we have no influence over your starting pen as the pens are allocated by the organisers. They group riders according to historic Etape timings or your predicted finish times. Faster riders will be in the first few pens with slower riders at the back.
The Etape du Tour is on completely closed roads. In addition to the regular water and food stops provided by the organisers, Love Velo will have 2 dedicated feed stations along the route to refuel you.
All our accommodation is located in Nice, right by the start and finish line meaning you can finish your ride and head straight to your bedroom for a warm shower, something to eat and to change out of your cycling gear. There is no waiting around for return transfers or having to ride to another location after a tough race. We couldn’t be better positioned for you to enjoy the end of the race.
After breakfast, we will be providing transfers back to the airport or if you are making your own way home, check out will be mid morning.
The 2020 Etape du Tour takes place in Nice, with a loop ride into the mountains. It is a 177km with 3570m of climbing in one of France’s most stunning regions. Ride a stage of the Tour de France just weeks before the greatest cyclists in the world tackle the most foreboding mountains in the Cote d’Azur region.
Entering its 30th year, the Etape du Tour is one of the most popular and celebrated sportives in the world. With previous years in the Alps and Frenc Riviera proving to be so successful, the famous sportive will make a return to eastern France, guiding riders through the unique, mountainous region including climbs up the Col de la Colmiane (1500m) and Col de Turini (1607m). Nice, the coastal finish 33km after climbing the iconic Col d’Eze, provides riders with a beautiful end to the challenging 177km ride. However, don’t be surprised if the race is already won on Col d’Eze!
A constant feature of the ride will be the local French residents, spurring you on and providing the added motivation to get you to the finish. Enjoy riding through the authentic local towns and through the contrasting but equally beautiful valleys. The French Alps provides a riding experience you will never forget.
