Day By Day Granfondo Colnago

We can tailor make this trip for you
Day 1Arrival

Arrive in Milan or Verona and we will provide a private transfer to the Palace Hotel. Our team will be in place to welcome you at the hotel and assist you with your bike or make adjustments to those that are hiring bikes. Our guides will then lead you on a spectacular ride along Lake Garda, Italy in all it’s splendour. Along the way we will stop for coffee and maybe an ice cream in Sirmione. On return to the hotel you will have time to relax and use the Spa facilities before your evening meal. There are many reasons to choose Italy as a cycling destination and one of them is the food! A sumptuous meal will be served using local ingredients. The meal will be a great way to meet fellow guests and share stories of cycling over a glass of wine.

Day 2Ride along Lake Garda

There is plenty of time after breakfast to stroll through the pretty town of Desenzano and, for the first time, have a wonder around the Colnago Festival. A super place to see first hand exhibitors from all over Italy. A glimpse in to the world of cycling fashion, gadgets and of course beautiful bikes. After a relaxing morning we will again set off on a ride towards the west side of Lake Garda. Your guide will take you on some of the climbs to be tackled during the Granfondo.  With bikes safely stored away we will again meet for a splendid meal in the hotel restaurant. With no riding the next day many clients may choose to explore the nightlife in the heart of Desenzano. With plenty of bars, ice cream shops and cafes you are spoilt for choice.

Day 3 Visit the Colnago museum

As an official partner of the Granfondo we are very excited to offer clients a unique insight in to the world of one of Italy’s most famous brands. After breakfast you will be transferred to Cambiago (outskirts of Milano). A name synonymous for over 50 years with Colnago, the Colnago museum is a must for any cycling fan. A chance to discover the story of Colnago. The afternoon will be spent in Desenzano where we will organise your registration for the Granfondo for you. The organisers of the event have planned a fun afternoon and evening of cycling related activities. This evening you have a chance to chose your own restaurant for dinner.

Day 4Grandfondo Colnago

Our team will be on hand to make any last minute bike adjustments before we cycle the short distance to the start line of the Granfondo. An epic 100km plus awaits over 3000 riders all looking forward to great riding and fantastic views overlooking Lake Garda. Non riders can hop on a shuttle service to viewing points around the course to watch loved ones. On return to the Palace Hotel there is no need to rush as we have arranged late check outs for you. With bags packed and bikes in boxes we will transfer you to the airport for flights departing in the evening. Please ask us if you would like to stay an extra night which can also be arranged.

How's the Weather? in Lake Garda

The SpringMarch to May
Northern Italy has a mild climate in the Spring making it a perfect time to ride. The Granfodno will be ridden in ideal conditions with temperatures increasing but not overwhelmingly hot.
The SummerJune to August
The summer is hot and you're likely to experience good weather with warm temperatures. July & August are exceptionally warm and you are likely to want to ride early and stay out of the midday sun.
The AutumnSeptember to November
September is a great time to visit Lake Garda as temperatures have begun to decrease following the summer heat. Cycling will be hugely enjoyable in the early Autumn. November has the most rainfall so plan your trip to be home before then.
The WinterDecember to February
Temperatures are low in Winter and you're likely to experience rain. Northern Italy is therefore best avoided at this time of year.
