WE LOVEStunning Routes
The routes around Lake Garda are some of the most spectacular in Europe. You'll ride through lakeside towns, vineyards on the upper slopes and across cliffs that plunge into the waters below.
WE LOVEThe Views
Arguably the most stunning European lake, the views across Lake Garda are simply breathtaking. Lookout across Bardolino and you will see its tower standing triumphantly over this beautiful lakeside town, with Isola del Garda island in the background. From nearly everywhere, you can see spectacular mountain ranges plunging into the crystal blue waters of the lake.

What's Included

Your guided Lake Garda road cycling holiday

We can tailor make this trip for you
Day 1Arrival at Lake Garda

Fly into either Milan, Verona, Venezia or Bergamo, as these airports are all close to Lake Garda. However, Verona is the closest airport.

Day 2Clockwise Loop (Classic)

Explore the Southern half of Lake Garda, with much of your route next to the lake’s sparkling edge. Your first climb will be small but steep, however the glimpses of Lake Garda and mountains in the distance makes the hard work worth it. You will also pass through quaint, traditionally Italian towns, including the laid back Gardone Riviera situated overlooking the lake. Use the ferry to reach the other half of the route across the lake. Take off your helmet and feel the wind in your hair as you find yourself in the middle of Lake Garda.

Total distance95kmTotal climb850m
Day 3Lumini Loop

Spend a day on the Eastern shores of Lake Garda, surrounded in some of the area’s best scenery. When you aren’t cycling alongside the still waters of the lake itself, you’ll be within the expansive valleys nearby or looking out at the lake and it’s mountains from above. A difficult climb will wind you from 75m to 737m over 14.3km, boasting what is undoubtedly the best view of Lake Garda. You will also cycle through colourful towns, where you’ll find ice cream and coffee.

Total distance75kmTotal climb1100m
Day 4The Lap

Get to know Lake Garda a bit better, and embark on an epic journey around its whole perimeter. Although not an easy route, you will be rewarded with incredible views over the lake for the majority of your ride. For the most part, the ascent is spread out evenly without any steep climbs, yet there is one. Chockablock full of switchbacks, the biggest climb takes you 15.6km above your route by Lake Garda, and at the summit offers panoramic scenery down into the valley and lake.

Total distance169kmTotal climb2290m
Day 5Depart Lake Garda

Today you have the freedom to say goodbye to Lake Garda and return home, or extend your trip and spend more time exploring the lake’s abundance of spectacular routes.

What to ExpectFrom Mountainsides flanking the lake and making for spectacular cycling

For La Dolce Vita, look no further than Lake Garda, arguably the most beautiful European lake. 7% of all tourists to Italy head for the lake’s 90 miles of shoreline. Chocolate-box towns appear all round the lake whilst spectacular old church spires stand triumphantly above the buildings.

The dramatic mountainsides flank the lake and make for spectacular views and even better cycling on your holidays in Lake Garda. Watersports are also a favourite and you will see windsurfers and kiteboarders catching the lake’s winds. Vineyards populate the north of the lake whilst the mild Mediterranean climate in the south of the lake sees an array of olive trees and lemon groves lining the hillsides.

This trip can be arranged as either guided or self guided, as can most of our cycling tours in Italy.
