Arrive at Barcelona Airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel in La Massana. Take the time to check into the 4* Magic La Massana Hotel and, depending on what time you arrive, take a local walk and explore the beautiful surroundings that will be your base for the next 4 days.
Enjoy a relaxing dinner at your hotel which sits at 1230m and rest up before your first day on the bike tomorrow.
Day 2 will begin with a great breakfast at your hotel. Gradually come together with your group and get ready for your first day on the bike. Once your bikes have been fitted and set up, you will head off into the Pyrenees where you’ll encounter roads like you’ve never seen before.
Each day’s routes will be confirmed prior to departure as this will be dependent on the average group riding level. Rest assured, we will ensure you experience the best climbs, views and roads Andorra has to offer during your stay.
Following a great day out on the bike and lunch en route, you will begin your return to La Massana where dinner will be served. Recap the day’s events and start looking forward to another day on the roads tomorrow. Enjoy some time in the bar with your group or rest up after the successful day of climbing!
Similar to yesterday, today you’ll get to enjoy another spectacular day on the bike in the magnificent Pyrenees.
Following breakfast, rejoin your group and guide and set off into the hills to take on some of Europe’s most challenging climbs. Whilst the names don’t share the weight of those in the French Alps or the Italian Dolomites, some of Andorra’s most memorable climbs, including the Coll d’Ordino, La Coma D’Arcalis, La Rabassa and the Coll de la Gallina, will offer challenges and rewards that match, if not surpass, their European neighbours. Look forward to taking on some of these ascents during your stay.
Return to the hotel for another great meal and rest up before tomorrow where you’ll be a part of one of the most memorable cycling and viewing experiences linked to the Vuelta de España.
Rise for an early breakfast at your hotel before jumping on the bike and cycling part of Stage 9 of the Vuelta de Espana. You’ll cross the line as the atmosphere begins to build and the crowds begin to fill the streets, just hours before the pros are due to enter Cortals d’Encamp.
Once you cross the finish line, enjoy VIP access to the village where there will be big screens to watch the race live as well as drinks and snacks on offer. Watch the riders cross the finish line after a 96km mountain stage before jumping back on the bike and riding the 15km+ back to your hotel for the final night’s dinner.
Enjoy a final meal at your hotel and start planning your onward journey. You will be provided with a transfer back to Barcelona airport this evening. Alternatively, if you have plans to extend your trip in La Massana or at a new location in Andorra, Spain or France, let our cycling experience team know and we will arrange your transfers, accommodation and bike hire to suit this.
Famous cols, idyllic valley rides as well and beautiful scenery everywhere you turn, the Pyrenees offers the perfect playground for a cycling holiday. Andorran resident and BMC Racing Team member, Simon Gerrans, moved here from Monaco and said: “it’s a fantastic place to live quietly with a family and train with a lot of mountains”.
The principality between Spain and France boasts a unique, tranquil lifestyle. This, contrasted with the magnificence of the climbs, makes Andorra the perfect cycling holiday destination.
