For the Portuguese speakers, yes the title of this ride is a pastry! The ride is 105km and there is a stop en route where you can enjoy the best Pastel de Nata in the Algarve. Your ride takes you into the hills via Son Bras and Salil before you arrive into Alte. Stop at Germano Bicicarte cafe where Pedro can serve you some of the best pastries and cakes in the Algarve, and you can marvel at the bikes and the art. What’s not to love?
If you want to get some good mileage under your belt with a decent amount of climbing, we recommend the route out to Sao bras and then into the hills. Your riding will be on pristine tarmac and you will hear the zip of your wheels as you loop back around to Santa Catarina. Head back to Estoi and then back to the resort. Feel free to extend or decrease this ride depending on how you’re feeling.
A great, relatively easy ride of 75km taking in 1,000m of climbing. You will ride via Estoi, Querenca and Loule, passing through countless vineyards and orange groves. If you get a chance to sample some of the oranges and satsumas, you won’t be disappointed.
Leaving the Campus, you climb into the Serras, cycling along quiet roads and through the Algarve’s Orange groves. This 70K ride will deliver you to the Vineyards of Joao Clara for some wine tasting and a meal if you fancy ending your day on a high. The evening will end with a transfer back to Quinta do Lago.
Enjoy breakfast before you are transferred back to the airport.
