What Are the Dates of Your Bike Trips?

All of our self guided bike tours are entirely tailor made. You can choose what day you want to travel and what riding you want to do. Our guided bike tours have set dates which you can see on each itinerary page.

How fit do I need to be?

This depends on where you're riding. In the mountains, you need to be fit to get the most out of your cycling holiday, as the climbs are long and steep. Trips that see you cycle from point to point, require you to be able to ride the required distances each day, but at your own pace and if you're worried, we always have e-bikes available.

Are your cycling tours guided?

We have a mix of both guided and self guided cycling holidays. Those that are guided usually include full support but check each itinerary that we sell, as this can change from time to time. Our self guided cycling holidays give you the freedom to explore at your leisure. Armed with our detailed route packs, you can effortlessly navigate the stunning landscapes, pausing whenever and wherever you desire. We will take care of logistics like luggage transfers if you're moving from base to base. It's the perfect blend of independence and support, making for an unforgettable adventure.

Question 5

How do our self guided holidays work?

Accepted Answer

With most of our self guided trips, we will take care of everything you need except the flights. If you’ve booked airport transfers, our friendly drivers will be waiting for you and of course the hotel(s) we organise will be perfect for a cycling holiday. If you’ve booked bike hire, be sure to check where you’re getting it from (that will be on your confirmation) as it might be delivered to your hotel, or might need you to pick up from the bike shop. We will also provide you with a set of routes to discover the best cycling, fully curated by our expert route team. If you’re moving from hotel to hotel, we can of course also provide you with luggage transfers.

How do our guided holidays work?

Our guided holidays usually include full van support and guided riding, as well as accommodation and bike hire. Check the website or give us a call for specific information about a particular trip.

Question 7

What do the bikes come with?

Accepted Answer

Most bikes come with a mini pump, spare tube and tyre levers. However, this is dependent on destination so please check before you travel, and we always recommend bringing your own mini pump just in case.

Question 8

Can you fit bikes to suit me?

Accepted Answer

We will size your bike according to your height. We do this because frame sizes differ between manufacturers. We are also able to take 3 specific measurements called your ABCs so that when you arrive on your holiday, your bike will be set up in advance with only a small amount of adjustment, if any, required. Please note that we do not setup bikes in accordance with a bike fit.

What about Travel Insurance?

It is a condition of travel that you have an adequate travel insurance policy in place for your holiday. We don't recommend any provider but we do work with Yellow Jersey Cycling Insurance and they offer our customers 15% off using LOVEVELO15 at the checkout.

Question 10

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Accepted Answer

We strongly encourage all of our guests to wear a helmet. Laws regarding helmets can vary from country to country, so it is also advisable to check this in advance. We don’t provide these from a hygiene and safety perspective. We recommend that helmets are ridden on all our holidays and we suggest you clip your helmet to your hand luggage so that you can keep it safe and secure whilst you travel. It is mandatory to wear a helmet on some of our holidays so please ask us in advance.
