Your Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival into Rimini
Your Italian cycling adventure begins with a warm-up ride along the Panoramic Road of the San Bartolo Natural Park, a true classic for anyone visiting the Adriatic coast. After arriving from Rimini Airport and settling into your hotel, you’ll head out to explore this spectacular stretch of road. Ride through ancient hilltop villages such as Casteldimezzo and Fiorenzuola di Focara, perched dramatically above the sea, with every turn offering sweeping coastal views. As the sun begins to dip, enjoy the golden light over the Adriatic before returning to your hotel, legs warmed and ready for the days ahead.
Day 2 – Conquer Monte Carpegna
Today brings a legendary challenge — the Monte Carpegna, one of Italy’s most iconic climbs and a favourite training ground of Marco Pantani. The 6 km ascent from the town of Carpegna averages 10%, with the final 2 km — Il Cippo — pushing toward 12%. As you climb through dense forests and peaceful meadows, you’ll pass roadside tributes to Il Pirata himself before reaching the summit. From the top, take in panoramic views stretching from the Republic of San Marino to Monte Fumaiolo and Monte Aquilone — and savour the satisfaction of conquering one of Italy’s most storied ascents.
Day 3 – The Dolce Vita Ride to Sogliano
Embrace the Dolce Vita as you roll through the lush valley of the Rubicon toward Sogliano al Rubicone, a village steeped in tradition and world-famous for its Formaggio di Fossa. The highlight is the 3 km, 18-bend climb from the Ciocca Bridge, winding through woodland to reach the medieval centre. Pause for an espresso in the sun-drenched piazza or sample local delicacies in one of the trattorias before an easy return through the fruit trees and farmhouses of Emilia-Romagna’s countryside to the coast.
Day 4 – The Fortresses of San Marino
Your final ride takes you to the Republic of San Marino, a spectacular fortified city perched atop Monte Titano. The route winds through olive groves and vineyards of the Riminese hills, climbing gently from the Adriatic plain to the ancient walls of this historic enclave. As you ascend, watch the scenery transform from coastal countryside to medieval mountain stronghold, crowned by San Marino’s Three Towers — Guaita, Cesta and Montale. Explore the cobbled alleys, refuel with a traditional lunch, and take in views across Italy before descending back toward the sea — a perfect finale to your Emilia-Romagna adventure.
Day 5 – Departure Day
After breakfast, it’s time to say arrivederci to Emilia-Romagna. Take a final stroll along the coast or enjoy a relaxed morning at your hotel before your transfer back to Rimini Airport.

What our Cyclists Say
Awesome customer Service like it used to be. When planning my husband's 50th birthday and knowing very little about cycling I decided to try Love Velo and I can't recommend them, and the service I've received from James Danvers highly enough.

I booked through Love Velo because the reviews were so good. I wasn't disappointed. Right from my first contact with LV they were easy to talk to and although I dithered (my first cycling trip abroad) they didn't press me. When I eventually confirmed my booking they took care of everything.

Everything about Love Velo has been faultless. From the initial notification of them teaming up with Le Col and to the pricing being unbelievable and then the customer service, top class. James, if all the staff are as attentive to every detail as you are then everyone will be as lucky as I have been. 100% at some point, hopefully in the near future I will be booking again with you guys. Thank you again
