Guided Cycling Holidays in Gran Canaria
What to Expect on This Trip
Home to the Valley of the Tears, Gran Canaria is a great option for some warm weather cycling or training. Like Tenerife, there’s plenty of climbing and with slick and well maintained roads, you can truly test yourself on the bike. We recommend basing yourself in the south. Maspalomas is home to a huge number of hotels but for a quieter more luxurious stay, head a few km east to Meloneras.

Your holiday
Let us take care of everything for you. We will arrange your airport transfers to take you to our accommodation in one of our curated cycling friendly hotels, close to where all our group guided rides start. Book and join as many guided rides as you like and for the days you don't want guiding, we will provide you with our expert digital route pack to explore the island under your own steam. You have the power to build your own holiday. Our guided rides run between October & April. Outside of those times we have intermittent guided rides so let us know if you plan on riding in Gran Canaria at that time.
Mondays
The Fataga Tour starts in one of the most remote areas of the island, the Ayacata Gorge. If you love action, this is the tour for you, because here the path follows the rising and falling contours of the mountains. During the break you can enjoy the wonderful view of Tenerife. The total distance is 43km with 500m ascent. Choose between a 59km/850m ride, a 67km/1,350m ride, or an 86km/1,750m ride.
Tuesdays
The Soria Tour begins with a gentle warm-up, out to Arguineguín on the rolling coastal road and then gently up to the Cercado de Espinos. Save your energy, because from here it goes to heaven. The local "Alpe d'Huez" is one of the most popular ascents on the island. After the summit, there is a wonderful restaurant which serves mango juice, toast or wonderful cinnamon-laced bread. Choose between a 62km/1,200m ride or a 71km/1,700m ride.
Wednesdays
No cyclist coming to Gran Canaria can leave without doing the iconic SPico de las Nieves. This is a straight start from sea to 1950m with only 48km in between. You will head up through Fataga, San Bartolomé and then to Cruz Grande at 1247m. A short flat section will provide some rest, before a right turn at Ayacata, then it`s some serious climbing all the way to the top. The descent goes back the way you climbed. Choose between a 67km/1,395m ride or a 103km/2,595m ride.
Thursdays
Today you can choose between 2 rides, both of which head up towards Soria. For a slightly easier day, choose the ride up to Cercados de Espino, just about 10km short of Soria. For a longer day, choose the ride that heads up to Soria itself. Choose between a 50km/650m ride or a 70km/1,1170m ride.
Fridays
The Green North Tour offers you a fabulous 360 degree view of North Gran Canaria. First through the eucalyptus forests where you can improve your skills and then to the village of Agua, Firgas for lunch. Finally there is an uphill, rewarded by incredible trails to the Picacho. The ride is 90km/1,500m.
Saturdays
The quiet Ayagaures valley holds a short climb up to the Pedro de González pass at 490m with spectacular views . Next into a short valley climbing up to Palmitos Park. Then down again for a quick local climb before we head for a coffee stop at the Faro lighthouse. Choose between a 50km/760m ride or a 55km/760m ride.
Sundays
We don't have regular rides running on a Sunday but we are often able to arrange these on request. Just let us know when you make your enquiry.

What Our Cyclists Say
We had an excellent 6 days in Mallorca organised by LoveVelo. 1 night in Palma then 5 days brilliant gravel biking based in Inca. Everything was perfect: hotels, transfers, bikes and GPX routes. Highly recommend. Thank you Oli. We will be using LV again for sure.

I was in desperate need of a break, and Amanda was brilliant at considering my needs and offering suggestions that suited. The cycling was fantastic and the organisation by Love Velo was faultless allowing me to just turn up and ride.

Recently enjoyed a trip to Mallorca staying in Port de Pollenca, the hotel, cycle hire and airport transfers were all organised for us by Phil at what I feel was a very good and fair price. This was my first experience of this type of trip so used them on recommendation from a friend who had used them a few years back - I can also happily recommend, been home 2 days and already talking about booking a trip for next year so I will be contacting LoveVelo again soon. Great service - 5 stars well earned.
