Your Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival into Utrecht
Upon arrival into Utrecht, enjoy the city centre or explore the woodlands that surround the River Kromme Rijn.
Day 2 - Utrecht to Gironchem
58km total distance
Today's route sees you cross vast polders and ride past typically Dutch windmills, old farm houses and lush meadows. As you head south, you will reach the glass town of Leerdam, a meeting place for glassblowers from many countries who demonstrate their craft. After Leerdam you will continue following the river Linge towards Gorinchem where you finish your day.
Day 3 - Gorinchem to Gouda
62km total distance
Today you will ride toward the UNESCO world heritage site of Kinderdijk. The 19 windmills, which have been standing since 1740, are a beautiful sight and you can explore the history of this quiet place.
Your destination today is Gouda, famous for its cheese. The city's other speciality is syrup waffles so reward yourself with one of these after a day on the bike. If possible, plan your trip so that you can go to the traditional Thursday morning cheese market.
Day 4 - Gouda to Woerden
38km total distance
You will head past the river Vlist to the town of Oudewater. A few centuries ago, people suspected of being a witch were weighed here. You can visit the famous 16th Century Weighhouse and find out more about this old-fashioned tradition.
Oudewater is also known for storks, so keep your eyes open along the way for these beautiful birds. Your ride will end in Woerden, made popular by the town's celebrated cheese market on a Saturday.
Day 5 - Woerden to Utrecht
45km total distance
Today's landscape is typically Holland. You will pass by rivers, polders, lakes and woods. The last part will take you along the water, through Breukelen, to your hotel. At the end of your day you have time to explore Utrecht. In the heart of the inner city lies the old canal and its quaysides, thronging with waterside cafes that are unique to Utrecht.

What Our Cyclists Say
Wonderful tour of Holland beginning at Amsterdam - Haarlem, Leiden, Delft, Gouda and back to A. Six great days of using the many cycle paths through countryside and town, meeting helpful people (who all seemed to speak English) and seeing a variety of wild life and fields of flowers. Smooth transition from hotel to hotel: no problem with logistics. The canals were amazing. There were two couples, one of whom had an electrically assisted bike and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. Highly recommended.

Just recently got back from a fantastic cycle trip around Holland and wanted to say a big thank you to Macauley and Love Velo. Everything was perfect and went like clockwork. The bikes, route maps and information packs were all first class and made navigating from place to place extremely easy. All the hotels were great and in great locations and hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this trip to others,

Our cycling holiday to Holland was organised superbly by Love Velo: the hotels were good: good food, nice & clean, nice rooms, excellent staff; the bikes were very good - easy to operate, looked quite new; the selected routes were really good - just far enough each day especially with kids. Undoubtedly the highlight was a day at Keukenhof Gardens which were absolutely stunning. Overall a wonderful trip and the weather was even kind to us.
