Mallorca by @lukebarfootcyclist
With countless trips to Mallorca under my belt, I know my way around the island's more challenging terrain as well as the easier rides around the flatter parts of the island.

My Mallorca Highlights
Why I Love Mallorca
- Cap Formentor. It's hardly a secret but there are few more beautiful sights than the lighthouse as it comes into view.
- The climb to Puig Major and through the Monnaber tunnel is sensational. I love theglistening reservoirs just before the summit.
- The food is spectacular. Enjoy some authentic Mallorcan cuisine and enjoy tapas by the sea.
This is a trip based in a single location

Pick accommodation in Port Pollensa, the perfect place to ride from. Port Blue or Los Gaviotas are excellent.
My preference is a Pinarello with Di2 set up. Love Velo provide top of the range bikes in Mallorca.
Fly to Palma de Mallorca and you can get a speedy transfer to Port Pollensa.

My Recommended Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival into Palma
56km total distance
The best way to kick-start Mallorca is by heading out on the bicycle the day you arrive. Cap Formentor is the classic ride. Relentless climbs, savage switchbacks, and views so wild they barely feel real. Ride to the lighthouse and back for an incredible start to your holiday.
Distance: 56km
Ascent: 1,150mDay 2 - Port Pollensa to Andratx and Back
225km total distance
Today is a huge day in the saddle. The 225km route takes you over some of the very best climbing in Mallorca. You’ll ride the Coll de Femenia, conquer the mighty Puig Major, and sweep down the MA10 – quite simply, the most spectacular road on the island. It’s the kind of ride that makes your heart sing and your legs burn in equal measure.
You’ll pass through Estellencs, where the cliffside views will have your jaw dropping faster than your gears on a descent. Then it’s a glorious loop back from Andratx, the jewel of the southwest coast. From here, you’ve earned a breather – it’s a fairly flat ride all the way back to the north shore, where the sea breeze and that post-ride glow await.
Distance: 225km
Ascent: 3,970mDay 3 - Sa Calobra
120km total distance
On your final full day in Mallorca, you’ve saved a beauty – the legendary Sa Calobra via Coll de sa Batalla. This one’s a must-ride, and today’s the day you make it yours.
It’s your last full day on the island, so get into the saddle early. Sa Calobra – the name alone gets cyclists buzzing. It’s one of the most iconic climbs on the island, twisting and turning its way up with an average gradient of 7%. It’s challenging, sure, but perfectly balanced – a ride that tests your legs and rewards your spirit.
Distance: 120km
Ascent: 2,460mDay 4 - Departure
The final day is for a spot of lunch, some ice cream and then back home to the UK.
