Arrive & Depart At Any Time

Your Day by Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Arrival in Mont Dol

Mont-Dol is a beautiful place to begin your cycling holiday. Explore the flowery village upon arrival and take a walk to the top of the Mont-Dol where you get an incredible view of the hilly landscapes and polders.

  2. Day 2 - Loop ride via Mont-Saint-Michel

    65km total distance

Your first day on the bike will see you ride to the small town of Pontorson via Dol-be-Bretagne. The undulating countryside ride is both relaxing and beautiful. You'll then come to Le Mont-Saint-Michel, the impressive abbey that sits on top of a rock 1km out to sea. You will have to jump on a shuttle or horse tram for the last part. It is a popular tourist spot but definitely worth visiting. Next, you'll cycle to the bay near Chapelle St. Anne before the route inland back to the starting point.

  3. Day 3 - Mont Dol to Saint Malo

    38km total distance

Today's ride involves following a scenic route along the bay of Saint-Michel. Ride through Cancale, the fishing village known for its oysters, and eat at the local seaside restaurants where the seafood is incomparable. Whilst the Breton Coast isn't ideal for beach stays if you continue further up and over the peninsula, you will come across a beautiful golden beach. Follow this beach along the coastal path before arriving in the lively port of Saint-Malo where you will spend your evening and night.

  4. Day 4 - Day trip to Jersey or spend time in Saint-Malo

    34km total distance

How you spend today is up to you. Relax in the town of Saint-Malo and explore the historic landmarks, fortresses, shopping areas and beaches. Alternatively, take the ferry early in the morning to the British island of Jersey. Following the hour-long boat ride, jump onto the vast cycle networks and tour the island. With a couple of climbs thrown in, you'll find cycling is a great way to explore Jersey. Return to Saint-Malo this afternoon/evening and relax once again in the town.

  5. Day 5 - Saint-Malo to Dinan

    26km total distance

Following a small boat ride to Dinard, you'll ride on a completely straight track that was previously an old railway. Ride through villages and the verdant country before joining on to more quiet paths that run through the undulating green hills of the Berton inland to Taden Castle. You will soon arrive in the town of Dinan which boasts a wonderful historic centre. If you fancy a day off the bike, a boat runs from Dinard to Port Dinan and bikes can be transported on here.

  6. Day 6 - Loop ride from Dinan via Canal d'Ille et Rance

    49km total distance

You'll find plenty to do in the town of Dinan with galleries, shops and restaurants to keep you busy. Alternatively, jump on the bike again today and follow a ride through the green Breton hills, south out of Dinan. Sharing a resemblance to the English county of Cornwall, the vibrant fields and granite farmhouses make up a glorious landscape to cycle through. One of the highlights of this route takes you along a tow-path to the Canal d'Ille and Rance. Ride past the villages and locks for as long or as short as you like before returning to spend the evening in Dinan.

  7. Day 7 - Dinan to Mont Dol

    44km total distance

The final day on the bike begins in a relaxed fashion. Ride up to a dam, through undulating farmland and towards the cathedral city of Dol-de-Bretagne. Make sure you visit the St. Samson Cathedral and find out more about its history and symbolism. Walk the Fran Rue des Stuarts and observe the amazing old houses from the 12th and 13th century. A short ride to Mont-Dol will conclude your trip. Relax and enjoy your final night in Brittany and take in the food, smells, views and lifestyle for the last time.

  8. Day 8 - Depart from Mont-Dol

Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel and, depending on your time of departure, relax in the town of Mont-Dol. Let our cycling experience team know if you would like to extend your trip or if you require any assistance with your onward journey. LOIRE VALLEY AND CHATEAU TOUR.png

What our Cyclists Say

Awesome customer Service like it used to be. I admit that I'm one of many people who have taken to booking holidays and flights direct to save a few quid. But when planning my husband's 50th birthday and knowing very little about cycling I decided to try Love Velo and I can't recommend them, and the service I've received from James Danvers highly enough.

I booked through Love Velo because the reviews were so good. I wasn't disappointed. Right from my first contact with LV they were easy to talk to and although I dithered (my first cycling trip abroad) they didn't press me. When I eventually confirmed my booking they took care of everything.

Everything about Love Velo has been faultless. From the initial notification of them teaming up with Le Col and to the pricing being unbelievable and then the customer service, top class. James, if all the staff are as attentive to every detail as you are then everyone will be as lucky as I have been. 100% at some point, hopefully in the near future I will be booking again with you guys. Thank you again
