Arrive & Depart At Any Time
Your Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Pisa
Your journey begins in the beautiful city of Pisa. After your bike fitting and welcome briefing, take the time to explore the city’s magical old town. Wander through charming streets and soak up the atmosphere of this iconic Tuscan gem. It is the perfect way to set the tone for the adventure ahead.
Day 2 - Pisa to Viareggio
30km total distance
Start your day with one last look at Pisa before cycling through the serene landscapes of the Macchia Luccese National Park. The trail leads you to the sea, where golden sands and the scent of salt air guide you towards Viareggio. With its historic beachside elegance and the refreshing Tyrrhenian Sea calling, you will find it hard to resist your first dip.
Day 3 - Viareggio to Lucca
30km total distance
Cycle along the Versilia coast before turning inland onto the Via Francigena, the ancient pilgrim path from France to Rome. Pass through sleepy medieval villages nestled in the Tuscan hills and follow the Serchio River into Lucca. There, a unique highlight awaits – riding the entire circuit of Lucca’s stunning city walls. It is a ride through history with a view.
Day 4 - Lucca to Castelnuovo di Garfagnana
50km total distance
Follow the river north as you leave Lucca behind and head into wilder terrain. The Serchio is your companion all the way to the foothills of the Apennines. Stop for a moment at the striking Devil’s Bridge, its dramatic arch perfect for a photo or just a pause to take it all in. Arriving in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana feels like stepping back in time, with its narrow streets and quiet squares offering a true taste of old Tuscany.
Day 5 - Castelnuovo di Garfagnana to Forte dei Marmi
50km total distance
The mountains greet you this morning as you ride along a winding mountain road. Over 20 kilometres, you gain around 550 metres in altitude before reaching the gleaming marble quarries of Carrara. Then comes the descent – 30 kilometres of exhilarating downhill riding. As you reach the coast again, Forte dei Marmi welcomes you with elegance, style and the promise of a well-earned swim in the sea.
Day 6 - Forte dei Marmi to La Spezia
55km total distance
Today offers a beautiful change of scenery as you pedal through vineyard-covered hills and into Liguria. The fishing village of Bocca di Magra marks your entry into a new region, and from here the coastal road offers breathtaking views across the Ligurian Sea. Arriving in Lerici, with its pastel houses and seaside charm, is like cycling into a postcard. Just a few more turns and you arrive in La Spezia, a vibrant port city full of culture, food and character.
Day 7 - Exploring Cinque Terre
Swap pedals for hiking shoes as you explore the legendary Cinque Terre. These five colourful cliffside villages – Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore – are strung along the coast like gems. Travel by train from La Spezia to Monterosso, then walk between the villages with the shimmering sea always at your side. The Cinque Terre Express brings you back after a day of unforgettable coastal views and discovery.
Day 8 - Departure
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast and check out at your leisure.

What our Cyclists Say
Awesome customer Service like it used to be. When planning my husband's 50th birthday and knowing very little about cycling I decided to try Love Velo and I can't recommend them, and the service I've received from James Danvers highly enough.

I booked through Love Velo because the reviews were so good. I wasn't disappointed. Right from my first contact with LV they were easy to talk to and although I dithered (my first cycling trip abroad) they didn't press me. When I eventually confirmed my booking they took care of everything.

Everything about Love Velo has been faultless. From the initial notification of them teaming up with Le Col and to the pricing being unbelievable and then the customer service, top class. James, if all the staff are as attentive to every detail as you are then everyone will be as lucky as I have been. 100% at some point, hopefully in the near future I will be booking again with you guys. Thank you again
