Your Day by Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Touch Down in Bled

Touch down in one of Slovenia’s crown jewels—Lake Bled. This shimmering glacial lake is straight out of a fairy tale, complete with a clifftop castle and a church perched on its tiny island. Stretch your legs with a gentle stroll around the western shore, soaking up postcard-worthy views backed by the Karavanke Mountains. As the day winds down, grab a lakeside table and treat yourself to a slice of Bled’s famous cream cake (Kremšnita)—it’s practically a rite of passage.

  2. Day 2 - Bled to Bohinjska Bistrica – via Pokljuka Plateau

    27km total distance

After a short transfer up to Pokljuka, you're straight into alpine wonderland. Cycle through sleepy highland villages as you descend to Lake Bohinj, the pristine heart of Triglav National Park. Fancy a little extra adventure? Take a detour to the stunning Savica Waterfall, source of the Bohinjka River. Or hop on a cable car up Vogel Mountain for jaw-dropping views of the Julian Alps and mighty Mount Triglav

  3. Day 3 - Bohinj to Tolmin

    55km total distance

Today's ride is all about options. For the intrepid, climb over the scenic Sorica Pass. Prefer to save your legs? Catch a train through the Bohinj tunnel and enjoy a gentler route into the wild, rugged Soča Valley. Follow the river’s emerald waters, dip your toes (or dive in!) and don’t miss the world’s only monument to military cooks. Quirky? Absolutely. Memorable? Always.

  4. Day 4 - Day 4: Tolmin to Šmartno to Solkan

    46km total distance

Start your day with a scenic transfer to Kolovrat Saddle, where WWI history and epic views collide. Ride the ridgeline between two valleys and stop for a drink with Mrs. Josephine—local legend and pub owner—before rolling into the medieval village of Šmartno, all stone lanes and sun-soaked vineyards. On your way to Solkan, cruise along a one-of-a-kind cycling path that briefly dips into Italy and pedal over the world’s largest stone arch bridge.

  5. Day 5 - Day 5: Solkan to the Karst Region

    42km total distance

Say goodbye to wine country and ride into Cold War history. At Gorizia, the "Southern Berlin," you'll discover the fascinating Curtain Museum right on the old border line. From there, explore hidden gems like the world’s tiniest military museum and the Kostanjevica Monastery, where France’s last king rests. Finish your ride with a glass of local wine in the warm embrace of a tiny Karst village.

  6. Day 6 - Karst to Lipica to Divača

    50km total distance

Today is pure joy for animal lovers and history buffs alike. Roll past Sežana’s peaceful botanical gardens and on to Lipica, home of the world-famous Lipizzaner horses. Think snow-white coats, elegant dressage, and carriages straight out of a royal film.

  7. Day 7 - Divača to Muggia

    38km total distance

Start the day underground with a visit to the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO-listed marvel of silence and stone. Then it’s back on the bike for your final ride to Muggia, where Italy greets you with gelato, sunshine, and seaside charm. Got time to spare? Hop over to Trieste—a lively coastal city full of history, espresso bars, and easy-going vibes.

  8. Day 8 - Departure

After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to Slovenia but let us know if you'd like us to help with your onward transfer. LOIRE VALLEY AND CHATEAU TOUR.png

What our Cyclists Say

Awesome customer Service like it used to be. When planning my husband's 50th birthday and knowing very little about cycling I decided to try Love Velo and I can't recommend them, and the service I've received from James Danvers highly enough.

I booked through Love Velo because the reviews were so good. I wasn't disappointed. Right from my first contact with LV they were easy to talk to and although I dithered (my first cycling trip abroad) they didn't press me. When I eventually confirmed my booking they took care of everything.

Everything about Love Velo has been faultless. From the initial notification of them teaming up with Le Col and to the pricing being unbelievable and then the customer service, top class. James, if all the staff are as attentive to every detail as you are then everyone will be as lucky as I have been. 100% at some point, hopefully in the near future I will be booking again with you guys. Thank you again
