64km total distance
This morning, we leave Hue behind and take a short drive to the city’s edge. From here, we hop on our bikes and ride deep into Vietnam’s countryside, pedalling alongside peaceful canals and rivers into the lush estuary of the Perfume River.
Our route takes us through quiet farming and fishing villages before reaching the mesmerising “Ghost City” – a surreal collection of elaborate mausoleums rising from the fields. Built with funds from overseas families, these ornate tributes offer a striking contrast to the simplicity of the surrounding rice paddies and wetlands.
The ride rolls on through this calm, scenic landscape, ending at the shores of Vietnam’s largest lagoon, where locals farm oysters and fish in shimmering waters. After soaking in the views, we transfer to Lang Co Beach Resort for lunch.
The afternoon is all yours – unwind at the beach, treat yourself to the spa, or just relax and recharge for tomorrow’s ride.

From the top, it’s a thrilling descent into the vibrant city of Da Nang, where we stop for a well-earned lunch. The afternoon ride is a relaxed cruise through local neighbourhoods, past the dramatic Marble Mountains, and into the lush countryside along the Thu Bon River.
We arrive in Hoi An – a historic trading town with charm to spare. Its old-world streets are home to over 800 UNESCO-protected buildings, a living museum of Vietnamese, Japanese, and European heritage. We’ll spend two nights here, soaking up the colour, culture, and infectious energy of this riverside gem.

Our journey leads us to My Son, the ancient heart of the Champa Kingdom. Once a powerful Hindu civilisation, its temple ruins still echo with history. Though some were damaged during the war, many intricate structures remain – a testament to the artistry and spirit of the Cham people.
After lunch, we explore the site on foot before transferring back to Hoi An by van. Tonight, dinner is all yours to choose – dive into the bustling markets or unwind by the river with a bowl of something local and delicious. Your guides are on hand with top-notch recommendations.

Day 5 - Hoi An to Quang Ngai
56km total distance
We leave Hoi An this morning by crossing the sweeping Cua Dai Bridge, high above the Thu Bon River, with stunning views stretching out to the Cham Islands and the open sea. From here, we follow quiet riverside roads through rural farmland, greeted by waves and smiles from local farmers.
Our ride takes us to Tam Thanh, a peaceful beachside village where we pause for a seafood lunch by the shore. After lunch, we transfer south to My Lai – a powerful and emotional visit. On foot, we climb to an old temple and explore the memorial and museum that mark one of the darkest moments of the American War. Our guides will help bring to life the stories of those who lived through it and share how the legacy still resonates today.
From here, it’s a short transfer to the Cocoland River Beach Resort & Spa, tucked away where the Phuoc Giang River meets the sea. It’s a tranquil spot – perfect for unwinding and reflecting on a day that’s as thought-provoking as it is scenic.

From here, we ride through a changing landscape – breezy seaside stretches, rice paddies, salt flats, and fishing villages all unfold beneath your wheels. A few gentle climbs open up to hidden beaches, tucked away behind low mountain passes.
Our destination is Quy Nhon – once a wartime port and a refuge, now a thriving coastal city known for its seafood and sun-soaked shores. We finish the ride beside a wide river estuary, with the Quy Nhon skyline just ahead.
A short transfer takes us into the heart of the city. This evening, wander the lively streets or take in the sunset along the waterfront promenade, before joining your guide for dinner at one of their local favourites.

Day 7 - Dieu Tri to Tuy Hoa

We start the day with a short 45-minute transfer out of Quy Nhon, setting us up for a stunning inland ride through the lush Ky Lo River valley. The road flows gently through a patchwork of tribal and Viet villages, where you’ll share the route with wandering livestock and curious children.
With the highland foothills in the distance and rivers rushing beneath old bridges, this is Vietnam at its most authentic. After about 50 km, we leave the valley behind and follow quiet trails that weave past lagoons, farmland, and lively market towns.
Our ride ends with a breezy coastal stretch into Tuy Hoa – a city that’s quietly making a name for itself with its artsy sculptures and revamped waterfront. Your hotel is close to both the beach and the buzzing city centre, perfect for an evening wander and a taste of local life in this emerging seaside gem.

Day 8 - Tuy Hoa to Whale Island
58km total distance
It’s the final day in the saddle – and what a finale it is. We roll out straight from our hotel and soon find ourselves riding through an ever-changing landscape of dramatic mountains and emerald rice paddies. But brace yourself – today brings one last challenge: the mighty Ca Pass.
As we climb towards Vung Ro Bay, the views open up to dense jungle and sparkling blue waters. After a quick photo stop at the bay, it’s the final 3 km push to the top – a proper test at a 10% grade, but the sense of achievement (and the scenery) is next level.
From the summit, we descend to Dai Lanh Beach for a well-earned break. Grab a drink, dip your feet in the sea – or go all in with a swim, bike kit and all. From here, we transfer to Dam Mon, or ride if conditions allow, through a surreal, moonscape-like terrain that feels worlds away from the lush greenery we’ve left behind.
Then it’s time to trade two wheels for a boat. A short crossing takes us to Whale Island – your peaceful hideaway for the next two nights. It’s the perfect spot to kick back, reflect, and soak up the well-earned rewards of an unforgettable journey.

Welcome to Whale Island – a place where nature takes centre stage. Named after the local tradition of whale worship, this unspoiled 900-hectare island is a haven of calm, with no one here but resort guests and the wildlife that call it home.
Today is yours to enjoy however you like. Snorkel through vibrant coral reefs, paddle a kayak or catamaran into the bay, or head inland to explore island trails teeming with tropical flora and birdsong. Keep your eyes peeled – if we’re lucky, we might even spot whales or whale sharks cruising the coast.
Prefer to take it slow? Grab a deck chair, find a shady spot, and lose yourself in a good book with the sea breeze for company.
Tonight, we come together for one final celebration – a delicious feast of local flavours and a chance to share stories, laughs, and a toast to an incredible journey through Vietnam’s Central Coast.

What our Cyclists Say
Awesome customer Service like it used to be. When planning my husband's 50th birthday and knowing very little about cycling I decided to try Love Velo and I can't recommend them, and the service I've received from James Danvers highly enough.

I booked through Love Velo because the reviews were so good. I wasn't disappointed. Right from my first contact with LV they were easy to talk to and although I dithered (my first cycling trip abroad) they didn't press me. When I eventually confirmed my booking they took care of everything.

Everything about Love Velo has been faultless. From the initial notification of them teaming up with Le Col and to the pricing being unbelievable and then the customer service, top class. James, if all the staff are as attentive to every detail as you are then everyone will be as lucky as I have been. 100% at some point, hopefully in the near future I will be booking again with you guys. Thank you again
