Day 1Arrival in Fougères

Discover Fougères, its architectural heritage and its magnificent forests and gardens. This historical medieval city is overlooked by an imposing fortress.

Day 2Fougères to Pontorson

Your ride today is predominantly on a former railway path converted into a greeenway cycling track with zero traffic. You will ride through typically French villages following the Couesnon valley until you arrive into Pontorson.

Day 3Pontorson to Le Vivier sur Mer

Today is all about the picture book Mont Saint Michel. This rocky island has been lying in the middle of the sea for over a thousand years and has been visited by people since the dawn of civilisation. Enjoy a walk through the authentic medieval streets along timber framed houses before arriving at the famous abbey. Marvel at the Disney like castles, the imposing spires and the labyrinth of the tiny city.

Day 4Le Vivier sur Mer to Saint Malo

Your ride starts inland before arriving in Cancale a picturesque fishing harbour along the granite coast. Taste the fresh seafood before hugging the coast via ‘Pointe du Grouin’ a wonderful viewpoint over the water. Continue your ride until you reach Saint Malo, the City of the Sea.

Day 5Saint Malo to Dinan

Visit the city of Saint Marlo where you can read about the history of pirating on the high seas during the middle ages. Ride out to the Rance valley through countryside landscapes crossing numerous villages dating back thousands of years. You will continue your ride along the river Rance on a quiet cycling path until you reach Dinan.

Day 6Dinan to Combourg

Today you will ride again on a dedicated cycling path along the Rance canal. You will ride past locks and house boats with the option of riding inland at every village. Your ride will take you to Combourg with its impressive feudal castle.

This ride takes you into the heart of Brittany the centre of Brittany with numerous vestiges of the mysterious local civilization who former celebrate the worship of stone. A kingdom of legends, beliefs and traditions.

The days get longer and the temperature gradually rises to around 20°C. You will experience fresh mornings which will soon turn into warm pleasant days. There will be the odd days of rain but rarely for long periods and there are very few tourists at this time of year.
The SummerJune to September
Brittany is not sweltering like many areas in France at this time and so cycling is a perfect activity as summers usually bring long dry spells. Average daily temperatures are around 25°C although mid August can be hotter.
The AutumnOctober to November
Temperatures begin to cool and days can be cool and crisp. The watery sun gets lower and you will experience beautiful autumnal days.
The WinterDecember to March
Brittany is quite cold at this time and you will experience heavy rains so it's not the ideal time to ride.
