Arrive & Depart At Any Time
Your Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Bordeaux
Arrive in and take some time to relax in your centrally located 4* hotel. We recommend leaving plenty of time to explore the town and the banks of the River Garonne. Bordeaux is a beautiful town and sets up your week-long cycling holiday perfectly.
Day 2 - Bordeaux to Cadillac
47km total distance
Your first route brings you out of the Bordeaux city centre along a scenic cycle path on the right bank of the Garonne. Ride to Latresne before changing direction and riding north. Here you'll follow a converted railway which is now a small cycle path towards the Romanesque abbey in La Sauve.
Join the quiet tarmac lanes from here and you'll be taken towards the town of Cadillac where your hotel for the night awaits. With a pool included, this hotel is located next to the impressive Chateau de Cadillac, built in the 18th century.
Day 3 - Cadillac to Meilhan sur Garonne
45km total distance
Jump back onto the winding cycle path that avoids the busy roads between Cadillac and Saint Macair. There will be a small section of climbing on this leg of the journey but this is rewarded with stunning landscapes and views. Ride through vineyards, estates and quintessentially French villages. Following a rest-up at the Bastide de St Macair, cross over the Garonne and join onto the start of "la vélo route des Deux Mers", translating to "the cycle route of the Two Seas".
Your stay tonight will be in the Chambre d'hôtes in Meilahn-sur-Garonne. Alternatively, you stay further inland in Marcellus or another destination of your choosing.
Day 4 - Meilhan sur Garonne to Agen
70km total distance
Today’s ride is all about soaking up the serenity of the Canal de la Garonne as you cruise from Meilhan-sur-Garonne to Agen. The terrain is blissfully flat, and the ancient plane trees lining the route offer a welcome canopy of shade. There’s a peaceful rhythm to this ride—perfect for unwinding and exploring.
Make time for a detour to Damazan, where a morning coffee in the charming village square, surrounded by medieval arcades and remnants of its fortress past, feels like a scene from a postcard. If you’re up for stretching your legs a little further, Tonneins is well worth the 10km spin off route. Its riverside square buzzes with life, dotted with cafés, shops and restaurants—ideal for a leisurely lunch or just watching the world roll by.
Day 5 - Agen to Moissac
47km total distance
Ease into your day with a gentle ride along the canal, shaded by plane trees and flanked by rows of plum orchards—pure southern French charm at every turn. Around ten kilometres in, you’ll cross a spectacular aqueduct that sweeps you into the heart of Agen. It’s the kind of arrival that stays with you. Take a moment to explore the city’s vibrant centre and, if art’s your thing, pop into the Musée des Beaux-Arts for a fix of culture.
From here, the path hugs the channel, with the hum of a nearby road and railway never quite stealing the serenity of your ride. Before long, you’ll roll into the delightfully quirky Valence d’Agen. Keep an eye out for its round washhouses—yes, round! They’re an oddity worth snapping a photo of.
The final stretch is a peaceful pedal through open countryside, leading you to the historic town of Moissac. This UNESCO-listed gem is a key stop on the ‘Chemin de Saint Jacques’ pilgrimage route. Park up and wander the cobbled streets, marvel at the intricate carvings of the 11th-century Abbey of St Pierre, and take a quiet moment in the tranquil cloister.
Day 6 - Moissac to Toulouse
70km total distance
Cross over the river Tarn and reach Castelsarrasin via the beautiful Port-Canal du Cacor. Castelsarrasin boasts a charming port and 13th century Abbey of Belleperche. Take the time to explore this town before moving on. Back on the bike, you'll follow a quiet track to the famous city of Toulouse where it will begin to get busier and more lively. Take in the sights on the way including the water slope in Montech and the Ponts-Jumeaux.
Ride through Grisoles before reaching the historic Castelnau-d'Estrétefonds. There is an option to ride the final 25km of this Canal de la Garonne route on the train if you prefer.
Day 7 - Toulouse
Your trip comes to an end today. Spend the morning enjoying the atmosphere and lifestyle of those in Toulouse as well as sitting down for a great final breakfast. Following a final exploration of the city, head to the airport for your journey home. Alternatively, if you'd like to extend your holiday in France, this can be arranged. What our Cyclists Say
Awesome customer Service like it used to be. When planning my husband's 50th birthday and knowing very little about cycling I decided to try Love Velo and I can't recommend them, and the service I've received from James Danvers highly enough.

I booked through Love Velo because the reviews were so good. I wasn't disappointed. Right from my first contact with LV they were easy to talk to and although I dithered (my first cycling trip abroad) they didn't press me. When I eventually confirmed my booking they took care of everything.

Everything about Love Velo has been faultless. From the initial notification of them teaming up with Le Col and to the pricing being unbelievable and then the customer service, top class. James, if all the staff are as attentive to every detail as you are then everyone will be as lucky as I have been. 100% at some point, hopefully in the near future I will be booking again with you guys. Thank you again
