From Sagres you'll head to the extreme southwest of Europe, Cabo de São Vicente. We recommend visiting the lighthouse and the fort before continuing your journey north. You'll ride the wild area that leads to Carrapateira, a place of great beauty. Stop by Praia da Bordeira which has a huge beach, especially in low tide and which creates a lagoon. A long and challenging climb leads to the plateau that connects to Arrifana. Before reaching Aljezur, you will pass by one of the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve, Praia do Monte Clérigo.

  6. Day 6 - Aljezur to Vila Nova de Milfontes

    75km total distance

You'll finish today in Vila Nova de Santo André.

  8. Day 8 - Santo Andre to Setbual

    64km total distance

After crossing Vila Nova de Santo André, you will continue along the Lagoa de Santo André to the beach. It will then pass by Praia de Melides to turn inland towards the village of Melides. Follow the long straights that lead to Pinheiro da Cruz and then to Carvalhal. Continuing on to Lagoa Travessa, you will enter the extensive rice fields that will lead you to Comporta, where you can visit the Rice Museum. Once on the Tróia Peninsula, you'll travel through this magnificent tourist area to Costa da Galé where you'll take the ferry that connects to Setúbal.

  9. Day 9 - Setbual to Lisboa

Start by cycling along the coast towards Portinho da Arrábida on an exciting journey, passing by the famous beaches of Comenda, Figueirinha, Galápos and Galapinhos. Leaving Praia do Portinho da Arrábida, it's time to face the long and demanding climb to Serra da Arrábida. In Casais da Serra, you will leave the main road to enter a dirt road, heading towards Sesimbra. The route does not reach Sesimbra, continuing on to Serra da Azóia. Continuing along Costa da Caparica, you will then arrive at Trafaria, where the ferry will connect to Belém, in Lisbon. This is where your trip will end but we can add nights in Lisbon if you like. What our Cyclists Say

Awesome customer Service like it used to be. I admit that I'm one of many people who have taken to booking holidays and flights direct to save a few quid. But when planning my husband's 50th birthday and knowing very little about cycling I decided to try Love Velo and I can't recommend them, and the service I've received from James Danvers highly enough.

Abby

I booked through Love Velo because the reviews were so good. I wasn't disappointed. Right from my first contact with LV they were easy to talk to and although I dithered (my first cycling trip abroad) they didn't press me. When I eventually confirmed my booking they took care of everything.

Everything about Love Velo has been faultless. From the initial notification of them teaming up with Le Col and to the pricing being unbelievable and then the customer service, top class. James, if all the staff are as attentive to every detail as you are then everyone will be as lucky as I have been. 100% at some point, hopefully in the near future I will be booking again with you guys. Thank you again
