Arrive & Depart At Any Time

Your Day by Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Arrival into Caltagirone

Arrive in Caltagirone at your own pace, ready to begin your Sicilian adventure. You'll be handed your roadbook and maps, along with a full briefing on the route ahead, giving you everything you need to explore the island your way.

  2. Day 2 - Circular Stage

    97km total distance

Set off from Caltagirone on quiet, low-traffic roads to Piazza Armerina, where you can visit the Roman Villa del Casale. Only discovered in 1950, it's home to some of the finest multicoloured Roman mosaic pavements in the world. After exploring, you'll ride back to Caltagirone to complete the loop.

  3. Day 3 - Caltagirone to Palazzolo Acreide

    101km total distance

A rich and varied day, blending history with striking natural scenery. Your first stop is Vizzini, the small town that inspired several of Giovanni Verga's novels. From here, ride on to a plateau cut through with deep canyons, known locally as "cave," including the beautiful Valle dell'Anapo, surrounded by the villages of Ferla, Cassaro and Palazzolo Acreide. Expect a continuous rhythm of ups and downs throughout the stage.

  4. Day 4 - Palazzolo Acreide to Modica

    61km total distance

Begin with a visit to the historic centre of Palazzolo Acreide, before riding through the Monti Iblei, a striking landscape of rugged hills and green countryside, characterised by traditional dry stone walls. This shorter stage also gives you time to visit one of the region's architectural gems, Ragusa Ibla.

  5. Day 5 - Modica to Noto

    107km total distance

An easier day in the saddle, starting with a gentle downhill through a beautiful Iblei canyon into Scicli, well worth a wander before continuing to the south coast. You'll reach Isola delle Correnti, the meeting point of the Ionian and Mediterranean Seas, before continuing on through Portopalo di Capo Passero, Sicily's southernmost town, the ancient fishing village of Marzamemi, and the Vendicari wildlife sanctuary, an unspoilt coastline rich in rare birds and plant life. The day finishes in Noto, Sicily's most celebrated Baroque town.

  6. Day 6 - Noto to Siracusa

    63km total distance

Climb up to San Corrado and on to Noto Antica, perched on Monte Alveria. From here, continue to a spectacular viewpoint over the Cava Grande del Cassibile nature reserve, home to Europe's deepest canyon at 300 metres, as well as fascinating archaeological remains. From here, head north towards Siracusa.

  7. Day 7 - Siracusa

Spend the day exploring the historic centre of Siracusa, with time to discover Ortigia island, the historical and cultural heart of the city. With over 3,000 years of history behind it, Siracusa's old town holds archaeological traces of nearly every great civilisation of the Mediterranean.

  8. Day 8 - Departure

Depart at your own pace, or extend your stay to explore further. Just let us know when booking and we'll help plan your extension.MAP_FRANCE- LOIRE VALLEY AND CHATEAU TOUR.png

What our Cyclists Say

Awesome customer Service like it used to be. When planning my husband's 50th birthday and knowing very little about cycling I decided to try Love Velo and I can't recommend them, and the service I've received from James Danvers highly enough.

I booked through Love Velo because the reviews were so good. I wasn't disappointed. Right from my first contact with LV they were easy to talk to and although I dithered (my first cycling trip abroad) they didn't press me. When I eventually confirmed my booking they took care of everything.

Everything about Love Velo has been faultless. From the initial notification of them teaming up with Le Col and to the pricing being unbelievable and then the customer service, top class. James, if all the staff are as attentive to every detail as you are then everyone will be as lucky as I have been. 100% at some point, hopefully in the near future I will be booking again with you guys. Thank you again
