Your Maratona Trip
Day By Day Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel 2027
Day 1 - Arrival
Touch down in Venice airport and our Love Velo team will be there to greet you before you board your shared coach transfer into the heart of the Dolomites, to your hotel in Corvara or La Villa. Our handpicked, cyclist friendly hotels sit perfectly placed near the Maratona dles Dolomites start and finish lines, giving you easy access to the event village from day one. If you've booked our overground bike shipping service, your fully assembled bike will already be waiting for you at the hotel, so there's no unpacking a bike box and rebuilding your bike. Once you've checked in and settled into your room, kick the trip off properly at our welcome dinner, where you'll meet the Love Velo team and fellow riders joining you for the Maratona dles Dolomites weekend. If you're in one of our spa hotels, make use of the spa before dinner overlooking the mountains.
Day 2 - Group Ride
Today is a chance to spin your legs and make sure your bike is running smoothly. Our mechanic will be available to help with any major issues, and you can also collect your registration pack and race number from the organisers’ village.
Our team will lead a 30 km morning warm-up ride, taking you up the Passo Gardena before stopping for a coffee at Chalet Gerard, one of the best coffee stops in the Dolomites. Enjoy coffee and strudel with spectacular views over the mountain backdrop, before a descent back into Corvara, where you’ll have time to enjoy lunch before heading to the registration village to collect your race pack.
If you’d prefer to take it easy, we suggest simply riding the short journey to registration and back.
Day 3 - Rest Day
It’s the day before the race, so we recommend resting your legs and enjoying Corvara. You can take the cable cars up to the mountain-top restaurants or simply relax and explore the town. If you do decide to head out for a short spin, there are plenty of great routes and our team on the ground will be happy to offer recommendations to enjoy some cycling but save your legs for the big day tomorrow.
Day 4 - Race Day
It’s an early start this morning. Breakfast is served from roughly 5.15 am, and you must be in your start pen by 6.15 am (15 minutes before the race begins). If you’re not in the pen 15 minutes before the start, the organisers will direct you to the back pen.
Roads are closed to traffic, so you will freewheel from the hotel to the race start. Our top tip is take a silver recovery blanket to keep yourself warm in the pens. Even if the forecast is for beautiful sunshine in the day, early morning in the mountains is very fresh!
We will have exclusive support available at two points along the route. The first will be shortly after the start, where we’ll be ready to collect any gear you no longer need, such as extra clothing worn in the start pens. The second will be an additional feed stop at the 55 km mark, where you can top up your supplies or use it as a pick-up/drop-off point for your own items.
All riders make their way round the Sella Ronda, and you can choose your distance on the day. Unless you’re riding the short route, you’ll ride down through Arabba towards Andraz. If you’d like the 106 km route, simply turn left at the clearly sign-posted intersection, or hop over the brow of the hill to continue down to the Passo Giau and the full 138 km distance.
At the end of the race, we’ll be waiting for you in the Love Velo gazebo by the finish line. Enjoy a cold beer, take the weight off your legs and relax with us before grabbing a pizza at the Taverna or going back to the hotel for a shower. You did it!
Day 5 - Departure
Check out and catch our transfer back to Venice. Just ask us for transfer times.
A Wrap Up of our Maratona Weekend From Last Year
Another incredible Maratona dles Dolomites weekend is in the books. We welcomed 150 riders out to the Maratona dles Dolomites in July 2026, spread across all three distances, the full Maratona, the Medio and the Sellaronda.
Our riders stayed across our handpicked hotels in Corvara and La Villa, right at the heart of Maratona dles Dolomites weekend and just a short spin from both the start and finish lines.
Riders joined us on our warm up ride on the Saturday before the event, and with years of experience at the Maratona dles Dolomites behind us, our guides, including several ex professional cyclists, split the group into pods to keep the riding safe and manageable through Alta Badia.
Race day itself was brilliant, a real test across every distance of the Maratona dles Dolomites route, taking on legendary climbs like the Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and Gardena and of course the mighty Giau.
Another brilliant Maratona dles Dolomites weekend wrapped for 2026. This is our Instagram wrap up and we have also posted it below.

Strava Route
138km Maratona Route
Check out the Strava route for the 138km Maratona dles Dolomites Route. The full experience and the route most riders dream about when they think of the Maratona dles Dolomites. Starting in La Villa and finishing in Corvara, it takes on the event's most legendary passes, Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Giau, Falzarego and Valparola, covering the four Ladin valleys around the Sella group along the way. This is the distance for experienced, well trained cyclists looking for one of the toughest and most rewarding one day rides in Europe. Best positioned for our more seasoned riders and repeat Love Velo guests who want the complete bucket list route, and a strong upsell for anyone already booked on the Medio who's building the fitness to go longer. Prepare for the Giau, it's an absolute beast of a climb!

106km Maratona Route
Check out the Strava route for the 106km Maratona dles Dolomites Route. The middle ground for riders who want a proper test without taking on the full distance . This route extends beyond the Sellaronda loop and simply misses out the Giau, a 10km ascent at 10% average gradient. It suits confident, regularly riding cyclists who have some climbing in their legs but aren't chasing a full day in the saddle. A good recommendation for returning guests stepping up from the Sellaronda, or riders who want a genuine Dolomites challenge on a tighter timeframe.
55km Maratona Route
Check out the Strava route for the 55km Maratona dles Dolomites Route. The perfect entry point for anyone joining us on the Maratona dles Dolomites and arguably the most beautiful 55km in Europe. The route loops around the Sella massif, taking in the Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and Gardena passes before dropping back into Corvara. It's an ideal fit for first time sportive riders, less experienced climbers or anyone travelling as part of a mixed ability group, since it still delivers the scenery, the atmosphere and the bragging rights, just in a more manageable package.
