The 2026 Étape du Tour de France with Love Velo
The 2026 Étape du Tour de France will take place on Sunday, 19 July 2026, starting in Bourg d’Oisans and finishing atop the legendary Alpe d’Huez. Covering 170 kilometres and featuring an epic 5,400 metres of elevation gain, it promises to be one of the most unforgettable editions yet.
As always, Love Velo is a proud official Tour Operator for the 2026 Étape du Tour de France. We offer guaranteed entry with or without a full travel package. If you choose a package, it includes a choice of hotels, guided warm-up rides and of course race entry. We will also be providing airport transfers from Geneva or Lyon if you require.

Day By Day Etape Du Tour Challenge 2026
Day 1 - Arrival
As part of your Love Velo package, you’ll be able to book airport transfers directly from Geneva or Lyon airport, making your journey to the Alps as smooth as possible. If you’re planning to drive to the event, we’ll recommend the best hotels with convenient parking, so you can relax knowing your car is safely stored nearby. Your bike can be stored securely at the hotel.
For those arriving early, it’s the perfect opportunity to collect your race number from the Expo before the Saturday rush. Our friendly Love Velo team will also be there to answer any questions and ensure your weekend starts smoothly.
Day 2 - EXPO & Race Registration
Today’s all about soaking up the excitement. You’ll register, explore the lively event village, and dive into the expo packed with top kit and cycling inspiration. We’ll also head out on a group ride, an easy spin to stretch the legs, meet your fellow riders, and get a feel for the road before the big day.
Day 3 - Race day
Race day, game face on.
Today begins bright and early, so breakfast will be served ahead of time at your hotel to make sure you’re well-fuelled for the ride.
The Étape du Tour sets off in staggered waves, with each rider allocated a specific start pen, wave, and entry time. These are determined by the event organisers and unfortunately cannot be changed by Love Velo, so please make sure you arrive at your pen within your assigned time slot.
The start is in Bourg d'Oisans, at the bottom of the Alpe and you will need to freewheel there from your hotel. Make sure you take plenty of warm clothes for the descent and Love Velo staff will be at the race pens taking your warm clothing if you don't want to ride with it.
Hopefully, you will have an incredible ride and fully experience what a superb event the Etape du Tour is.
Day 4 - Departure
Check out will be mid morning and we will be operating transfers again back to the airport.
