Day 1
Arrival into Faro Airport and we will transfer you to your hotel in Tavira, a historic city in the heart of the Algarve. Overnight in a 4* hotel.
Day 2
The Sotavento Algarve – Today is a circular ride covering 63km, exploring the interior of the Serra de Tavira before entering Santa Rita’s forest and ending on the shores of the Atlantic along the Ria Formosa. Overnight in a 4* hotel (63 km, 650 m elevation).
Day 3
Ride to Alte – Jump onto the gravel and head west until you reach Fuzeta, a beautiful coastal village, where you then head north through the Barrocal area. Climb up past Vila of São Brás de Alportel before heading into Loule through the Serra do Caldeirão. Keep riding until you arrive in the traditional village of Alte. Overnight in an authentic countryside finca. (85 km, 1200 m elevation).
Day 4
Serra de Monchique – The Serra de Monchique provides for stunning views across the Algarve and today’s gravel is epic. Starting with a nice and easy ride to São Bartolomeu de Messines, you’ll head past the historic city of Silves on some of the best gravel you will ever ride. Visit the medieval castle and explore this small city before heading on to the Serra de Silves with its steep undulating paths. The last part of this day is tough climb up to Monchique. Overnight in a 4* hotel (80 km, 1500 m elevation).
Day 5
The Atlantic Southwest Coast – Today, you will ride up to the notorious Fóia, the highest peak in the Algarve at just under 1,000m. Once you summit, you’ll be rewards with an epic descent to the Atlantic southwest coast, famous for its wild beaches and even wilder surf where you will spend the night. Overnight in a 3* hotel (77 km, 1200 m elevation).
Day 6
The Vicentina coast and Cape St Vincent – Ride along the picturesque Vicentina coast, maybe the best gravel spot in Europe. Perfect gravel paths overlook the Atlantic coast as waves crash on to the beaches below you. You will ride to the the most southern point in Europe, Cabo de São Vicente. Visit the lighthouse and the ancient cliff fort before finishing your ride in Sagres. Overnight in a 4* hotel (73 km, 900 m elevation).
Day 7
Departure – Check out at your leisure before jumping in the airport transfer back.
