Lake Garda to Lake Como Cycling Experience

We can tailor make this trip for you

What we love About Lake Garda to Lake Como Cycling Experience

We love...The two great lakes
Lake Garda and Lake Como are two of the most famous and beautiful lakes in Europe. The trip allows you to experience stunning vistas, phenomenal lakeside riding and everything in between.
We love...The Madonna del Ghisallo
No ride in Lake Como would be complete without a visit to the Madonna del Ghisallo, a hill named after an apparition of the Virgin Mary. The apparition saved a medieval count from attacking bandits and the hill became a patron saint for travellers, and latterly cyclists. Visit the museum and explore cycling folklore.
We love...Italian Food and Wine
You can truly experience La Dolce Vita in Lake Garda. The food is phenomenal with some of the best pizza and pasta you will experience. Enjoy a glass of red and be sure to taste the local wines as you will pass rows and rows of vineyards on the hillsides that you ride.

Suggested Holiday

Our trip between Lake Garda and Lake Como is one of our most popular rides, encompassing some of the best cycling in Europe. You can begin and end this trip on any day of the week and our packages are completely flexible, so long as you stay for a minimum of 3 nights in each location.
We will pick you up from either Milan airport and take you to Belaggio on the shores of Lake Como. You’ll be in the midst of dramatic landscape where the blue waters of Como meet the alpine foothills. You will spend 3 nights on Lake Como (or more if you prefer) where you can ride into the hills and of course make a special visit to the patron saint of cyclists the Madonna del Ghisallo. We have various daily rides to suit your ability and you can choose which ride and what distance you would like to ride, each day.
On your final day in Lake Como, we will pick you up for a private transfer to Lake Garda. You will spend 3 nights on Lake Garda although again this can be increased if you prefer. The charm of cycling in Garda comes from not only the crystal-clear lake, but our secret routes through hilly vineyards in the Valpolicella region. Ride through world famous vineyards and past olive and lemon groves.
Each day, we have 3 guided rides that leave the hotel, fully supported by experienced local guides and support van. You can choose which ride you would like to join and they are classed as follows.

Easier Riding. This is for experienced cyclists who ride at a moderate pace and are comfortable on various terrains, including longer hill climbs, riding in a group. Our easier rides will generally take the group on a 50-60 km ride with hills that might extend for 3-4 km, and smaller undulating terrain.  Cyclists should expect to be on the bike between 3 and 5 hours, including stops and the riding is usually at a speed of about 20-25kmh.

Harder Riding. The harder riding adds just a little more riding challenge to the easier rides. You will have a few more opportunities to test out your cycling abilities on some longer and/or steeper climbs, ride at a faster pace, and take on a few longer loops to add more Km/miles to the route.  This is our most requested ride level and the riding is usually at a speed of about 25-30kmh.

Epic Riding. This is available for the most serious riders, who will tackle the longest, toughest routes, with distances ranging from 90-130 km, and typically at a pace of around 25-35kph, depending upon terrain.

Your trip will be dinner bed and breakfast board and we also include a Bottechia in Lake Como and a Pinarello Gan in Lake Garda. If you would like to upgrade to a Pinarello Dogma F10 or a Pinarello Nytro e-road bike, let us know and we can organise this for you in Lake Garda.

How's the Weather? in Lake Garda & Lake Como

The SpringMarch to May
The cycling season begins in Spring and the earliest time to enjoy riding is from April. Temperatures begin to rise to late teens and the air is wonderfully crisp and fresh.
The SummerJune to August
The summer is the most popular time to ride. Temperatures don't tend to fluctuate much between mid to late 20s and so you will feel plenty of sunshine on your back.
The AutumnSeptember to November
September is a great time to visit the Italian lakes as temperatures begin to drop from the summer heat. Cycling will be hugely enjoyable in the early Autumn with temperatures around the mid 20s in September and gradually falling through the season.
The WinterDecember to February
The winter is best avoided for cycling in the north of Italy as you're likely to experience cold weather and rain.

Area InformationFor Lake Garda & Lake Como

For La Dolce Vita, look no further than Lake Gard and Lake Como, arguably the most beautiful area in Europe. Chocolate-box towns appear all round the lake whilst spectacular old church spires stand triumphantly above the buildings.

The dramatic mountainsides flank the lakes and make for spectacular views and even better cycling. Visit the Madonna del Ghisallo in Como and enjoy watersports in Garda where you can join the throngs of windsurfers and kiteboarders catching the lake’s winds. Vineyards populate the hillsides of both lakes. Ride through Valpolicella, stop for a glass of local red, and take in the sights and smells of the olive trees and lemon groves.
