What's Included

Our Tenerife Cycling Holiday Offer

Day 1Arrival into Tenerife

Arrive into Tenerife South from any flight and we will provide private transfers to the fabulous 4* MYND hotel in Adeje. MYND hotels are dedicated to nutrition, wellbeing and sport giving you the perfect base from which to explore the island.

Day 2Acclimatisation

We recommend a day acclimatising to the island and getting your legs ready to climb. Head up the west coast towards Los Gigantes Valley where you can climb from Tamaimo to Arguayo. The climb is steady passing over lava fields before topping out and enjoying a speedy descent back towards coastal towns. This is a great, short 50km ride with 1,200m of climbing to introduce you to the island.

Day 3Teide West

If you’re in Tenerife, it’s likely you’re there for Teide. The looming peak of the volcano can be seen from nearly every point on the island and it dominates Tenerife’s landscape. Today, we recommend the beautiful climb through Vilaflor. You will head out from your hotel towards Granadilla before turning up towards the volcano. You will ride through Vilaflor, a sleepy and typically Canarian village on the slopes of the volcano. The climb from Vilaflor is relentless and a great test of your abilities. As you head into the national park, the slopes become darker with black volcanic rock, with vibrant green trees springing up from the hillsides. You have a choice of skirting the crater and descending, or making your way all the way to the cable car station at Teide. The ride home is an exhilarating descent zipping all the way down on almost perfect tarmac. The ride can be anything from 75km to 100km with between 1,400m – 2,000m of climbing depending on your preference.

Day 4Teide or Masca

Depending on what you achieved yesterday, you can ascend Teide from a different side or take on the Masca Valley.

If you choose Teide, we recommend heading up through the banana plantations just below Guia de Isora. Ride up towards Chio and enjoy an espresso in the cafe which has beautiful views over La Gomera. Then head straight up for an intense 40km of climbing into the crater. You can choose to skirt the crater’s edges or ride all the way to the centre of the national park where Teide’s peak proudly sits.

If you prefer an alternative route, the climb to Masca Valley is sensational. You can follow the road from Guia de Isora towards Masca or approach Santiago del Teide via the lower roads. We recommend riding up as early as possible as in the hieght of the season, Masca’s incredible views attract tourists from all over the island.

Day 5Departure (or extend your trip)

Today we will give you a return transfer back to the airport or if you prefer, you can extend your trip for as long as you like.

How's the Weather? in Tenerife

The SpringMarch to May
Spring in March, April and May offers the best riding. There will be lots of other cyclists on the road whilst the temperature and breeze provide perfect conditions.
The SummerJune to August
Tenerife can reach high 20's and low 30's in the summer making it great for sunny cycling! This is tempered by the breeze on the coast so you can enjoy some excellent coastal cycling as well as early morning rides.
The AutumnSeptember to November
Autumn is a great time to cycle in Tenerife. The summer heat has passed and the weather becomes perfect for cycling.
The WinterDecember to February
In the winter the temperatures drop slightly, however it's just as good as the UK's summer. Cycling conditions are spot on, perfect for winter cycling!
