One of our favourite itineraries, this holiday explores the southern beaches and quiet finca towns, away from any of the resorts. With just locals for company and pristine crystal waters, this is the ideal holiday for those who want to spend some time cycling and some time enjoying the sunshine.

DAY 1Arrival into Mallorca

Arrive into Palma airport and we will pick you up and take you to Agristurismo Son Perdiu in the south of the island. Relax and enjoy your surroundings before we deliver your bikes.

DAY 2Llucmajor's Orange Groves

Today is a day to acclimatise to the stunning surroundings of traditional Mallorca and your ride will be a loop back to the same hotel. Choose from either a ride down to the coast or circle Llucmajor's orange groves and pine woods.

Your ride will be quite flat and pass through country lanes on very quiet traffic free roads and there is also a small 5km climb that can be accessed if you want to try a challenging but not overly steep ascent, just north of Llucmajor.

Today's riding is approximately 20km.

DAY 3Ride to the beaches

Today your ride will take you down to the white sands of Es Trenc beach. The 10km stretch of beach dips down into shallow turquoise waters giving a truly tropical feel to the beach. There are very few hotels so you will be riding along quiet unadorned coastline. Your ride continues to Cala Pi before heading back to the hotel.

Today's ride is approximately 30km.

DAY 4Almond Orchards of Campos

Today you will ride north towards your destination in Campos. Your ride will see you cycle through stunning almond orchards. If you ride early in the Spring, the orchards will be in full bloom with pink flowers providing a striking contrast to the clay red fincas that you will ride past.

Campos is renowned for its windmills and you will see these dotted across the landscape as you ride to your hotel, Son Mercadel, just north of Campos.

Today's cycling is 25km.

DAY 5Departure

After breakfast, check out at your leisure. Remember all our holidays can be tailored to you so if you fancy a couple of extra days riding or a day or two back in Palma, just ask your cycling experience team and we will create a bespoke holiday for you.

Head out to the south east beaches and explore Mallorca with the locals and away from the tourist beaches. Our rides take in Es Trenc, the white sandy beach that stretches out across a national park as well as ancient farms. Your stay will be in handpicked agristurismos where you can explore authentic Mallorca under blue skies.

The weather in Mallorca makes it one of the most sought after destinations by bicycle. The island offers amazing riding in great weather to attract cyclists from all over the world. Mallorca has a relatively cool but sunny Spring and Autumn so if you’re planning on travelling between March and May and September to November, you will see a lot of bikes. You can also cycle in the summer and we would recommend beautiful early morning rides or later afternoon rides and to avoid the midday sun.

Your stay will be in traditional fincas but we have relationships across the island so let us know if there is a particular area or hotel to visit.
You will be met and collected at Palma airport on your arrival and be provided with a transfer back to the airport on your final day.
Your bags will be collected when you move hotel and taken from your accommodation to the next night’s accommodation. We suggest you keep a day bag with you for all your essentials.
Your stay will be bed and breakfast but we can upgrade to half or full board on request. Just ask our cycling experience team when you make your enquiry.
The holiday is a self guided holiday allowing you to explore Mallorca at your own pace. We will provide routes for you in GPX format which allows you to download these to most GPS enabled devices, and with certain software, to your smartphone. These will be sent to you once you have booked your holiday with Love Velo and each file will be titled with a short description of the ride and the distance. If you would like to see the profile of each route, we recommend that you download the files before your holiday and open them with a GPS viewer such as this. If you would like guiding instead, please just ask our cycle experience team.
If you choose not to have a guide, you will want to know that your bike is in great condition and that you won’t have any mechanical problems during your ride. Our bikes are extremely well serviced and maintained but in the very unlikely event there is a mechanical issue with the bike (not including basic maintenance such as slipped chains or punctures), we will provide you with an emergency number for someone to come out and repair or replace your bike.
This bike you will rent to explore Mallorca is a Giant Escape RX, a hard wearing aluminium hybrid. The bike is equipped with Shimano components and comes with pedals and a tool kit.  We do have options to upgrade your bicycle so click on the upgrade options below to find out more.
Your bike will come equipped with essential tools for you to repair a puncture, replace an inner tube or fix a slipped chain.
Travel to Mallorca is not included but please ask our cycling experience team if you would like us to book flights
We consider travel insurance to be essential. Accordingly, it is a condition of making a booking through us that you have suitable insurance cover for the booking you have made and any activities which you expect to take part in. This insurance as a minimum should cover cancellation, baggage loss, accidents and health issues while you are away. We also recommend that you take your policy details with you when you travel. Please ask our cycling experience team if you would like us to arrange travel insurance for you.
This is a self guided holiday but we can arrange guiding for you if you prefer. Please just ask our cycling experience team what we can provide.
